Yum Yum Yogurt
How is it that we've gone this long without discovering our love of Greek yogurt? We just tried it, and it is now a staple in our fridge. This girl especially loves her "yogurt with sprinkles," and requests it for breakfast every single morning. Mama prefers granola, and here are a few pics of when she snuck my evening snack away from me before she went to bed.

Trip to the Farmers' Market
This morning we packed up and took a trip to the Dallas Farmers' Market. We hopped on the train near our house and took the 45-minute ride into Dallas so we didn't have to worry about driving, gas or parking, which was so nice. This was Baby Brother and Daddy's first trip on the train, and it was fun just watching the kiddos enjoy it!
I've been wanting to go to the big farmers' market for a while, and it did not disappoint! The sidewalks could have been a little wider -- maneuvering a big double stroller around a million other people was quite a challenge, but we survived. :/ We ended up buying some of our veggie garden favorites and having lunch inside one of the pavilions. We found a cake booth and had the best chocolate cake ever along with a cane sugar Coca Cola. It was definitely a delicious meal. :)
We had a few minutes of downtime waiting on the train to get back home, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well both kids did the entire time.
We made it home with okra (which we steamed for dinner and Big Sis LOVED it!), pickling cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes and some homemade body butter/lotions.
It was a fun day trip, and we hope to do it again sometime soon!

Four Months
This little guy is getting more fun every single day. He is interacting with us and Big Sis so much more now, and it's so fun to see their little sibling relationship develop. She is so good to him - ALWAYS wanting to be with him or hugging and kissing on him - and he loves to watch her and look around for her when he hears her voice. :) He definitely recognizes Mommy & Daddy, and I love just taking him in the bathroom to make silly faces in the mirror. He smiles the biggest, sweetest little smiles at us that completely melt me!
This month we got our first real laughs! I could tell he was trying to get a laugh out for a few weeks with the short ("he he he"s), but then on May 1, as he was sitting on the couch with Daddy, a fake sneeze did him in. He got a case of the giggles that went on for a good 5 minutes. I quickly grabbed my phone to catch him. Since that moment, we'll all three of us will randomly fake a sneeze just to try to make him laugh.
Sleeping at night has gotten even better than it was last month -- knock on wood -- as he usually sleeps 10 hours at night. He doesn't nap enough at daycare, so I'm sure he's just making up for it at night. He still wakes up every now and then, but it's usually close to the time I need to get up for the day anyway, so it's actually kind of helpful! He loves his paci, but he hasn't gotten too dependent on it. He usually prefers it when he's starting to get hungry or if he's trying to fall asleep. He loves being on his playmat or in his bouncer with toys hanging overhead. He bats at and acts like he's going to grab them, but he hasn't quite mastered the coordination to do so yet. I have been singing "You Are My Sunshine" to him since he was born, and now I sing it all the time to make him smile or help calm him when he's upset. I don't remember Big Sis having a particular favorite song, but he sure does. :)
Baby brother is consistently in 3-6 month clothes now, but I don't see them lasting very long. I really thought he was heavy for his age, but at his doctor's appointment, he was only in the 40th percentile for weight. As an aside, the boy has so many baseball clothes. At this point, he has 7 pair of pajamas. Two are white infant gowns that Santa brought (that are 0-3 months but still fit), 2 gender neutral jammies that were hand-me-downs from Big Sis, and three new pairs of footie jammies, which are all baseball. Once we had a boy, everyone (us included) has bought him baseball stuff. I'm totally not complaining, I just think it's funny. He'll probably turn out to not even like it when he's older. Well, that's not really possible, but still...
We are so lucky to call this boy ours. It's kind of hard to remember how "complete" life felt with one kiddo. These two little people are the best things that ever happened to us.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts
Another crafty project complete! I found inspiration on another website and copied the idea for the kids' teachers for teacher appreciation week's "flower day."

I wanted to do small flowers, but I couldn't find anything cute (and not half dead) when I went looking. I thought the plants turned out nicely, and they really weren't very expensive to put together, either.
"Thank you for helping me grow!"
I was very pleased at how they turned out and will probably do this gift again for new teachers.

Family Vacation Continues in Houston
After a day in Galveston, we headed back north to Houston. We checked into our hotel and relaxed for the afternoon before trekking just a few blocks away to see the Rangers take on the Houston Astros. It was my first time at this stadium, and it was so different than the ballpark. It is covered, for one, so it wasn't too terribly hot like I thought it would be. We had great seats in right field, and both kids were great throughout the entire game!
Look who we found before the game! It took her a few minutes to warm up to him.
They had a Blue Bell station right behind our section, and Big Sis waited patiently allll night to go get some. Girlfriend doesn't mess around when it comes to ice cream.
Baby Brother did so great and just sat and enjoyed the game with us. No fussing or anything all night! I guess he was just really into the game.

Our hotel was just a few blocks' walk away, and there was a sea of red walking all the way back with us.
The next morning, we had breakfast, then got to deal with Big Sister's stomach bug. Hopefully the hotel will let us come back. ;) We made a stop at Grandma & Grandpa's on the way back, then we headed home.
It was a fun quick trip, and we'll probably be making even more trips like this one next year since the Astros are moving to the American League and will be in our division!

Family Vacation to Galveston
We recently took a quick family "vacation" to Galveston and Houston. It was the first big trip we made with both kids in tow, and, although it was a lot of work, it was a lot of fun!
We drove down to Galveston on Friday morning and spent the afternoon lounging at the beach under a stinky rented umbrella. :) We were really wishing we had brought our tent, but it just wasn't practical for one afternoon on the beach. There were quite a few people out, and Big Sis quickly made friends with the little girl from the umbrella next to us. And the little girl from a few tents down from us. And her brother... The girl is not shy at. all.
After our long afternoon, we headed straight to dinner and enjoyed some yummy seafood and Double X (what we call Dos Equis -- backstory from our cruise to Mexico in '10 -- The Mexicans in Puerto Vallarta called it "Two X" when talking to us. The term evolved and it's now known as "Double X" in our house. And we may or may not refer to it often. It's a favorite. :)
The next morning we got up early and attempted self timer family portraits on the beach. I've been studying up on photography, but I haven't quite mastered the art of self portraits with a remote while getting a 3-year-old to look at a camera and smile while the sun is shining and sweat is pouring in all of our eyes because we got to the beach too late for decent light. It was kind of exhausting. Not exactly what I was going for, but I still think they turned out pretty good. :)
After pictures, we headed to the downtown area to look around. For the many times we've been to Galveston, I was surprised at how much we had never seen! We decided not to do much shopping because it was about 110 degrees, so we opted for another delicious seafood meal before packing up and heading out.
Next stop -- Houston!
